Whether it's farm-to-table restaurants or furniture makers, upstate New York has long been known as a mecca for makers conscientiously practicing their craft.
In the last few years, the region has also become a magnet for enterprising folks looking to make waves in the clean beauty space. And given the bounty of locally grown herbs and botanicals that can be sourced direct from the region's many farms for use in their products, it's no wonder.
Helen Prior’s ceramics and textiles are deeply rooted in the natural world. These unique creations are a cross-pollination of the leaves and wildflowers of the Hudson Valley combined with stylized flowers and patterns from Helen’s historical textile archive. Her hand-crafted designs are achieved by cutting fine lines and pressing found objects into the rolled-out clay, creating striking super-plants and intricate patterns that are both modern and beautiful.READ OUR INTERVIEW WITH HELEN PRIOR >
